This blog is dedicated to the world wide sport known as football or as we call it here in the USA, Soccer! As of late the men have been stealing the spot light, so I've dedicated this blog for the Women's game! None of the photos, gifs, or videos are owned by me.
I am personally okay with the “soccer mom” emphasis, partially because Amy has embraced it. And because there are very real physical differences for female athletes who have children in the prime of their careers and male athletes. I have all the more respect for A-Rod for coming back with the…
This is the kind of absolute bullshit from national team “fans” that I love seeing on Twitter. What the fuck are you even talking about, three years ago? Is somebody butthurt that their team is losing? A-Rod could not have played in any way better this whole year.
First off, A-Rod was absent the entire 2013 calendar season to have her child. Second off, she scored a CRUCIAL goal in the 2010 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifying tie-breaker game against Italy. THIS goal QUALIFIED us for the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany. What do you mean she “Can’t score” in big games? A-Rod may not be your favourite player like Baby Horse, Leroux, Rapinoe, or Wambach, but she is a crafty striker. A-Rod may NOT have scored in the 2011 Women’s World Cup or the 2012 Olympic games, but she did make a difference on the pitch. A-Rod is indeed a “Valuable” asset to the National Team. She has really stepped up her game in the WPS back in 2011 and NWSL. She is still coming back from giving birth too. You watch come qualifiers, she’ll score goals and or be a game changer like she was in the Olympics and World Cup. She can also play in multiple positions which makes her an even better asset to have in the player pool. Don’t be disrespecting an athlete just because they “don’t score” in big games. Do your homework and research before going on a raging rant about A-Rod saying, “She can’t score in big games for the USWNT.” Also, you have just shown POOR SPORTSMANSHIP as a fan to the following organizations and people: Amy Rodriguez, the Rodriguez/Schilling families, FC Kansas City, Seattle Reign FC, the United States Women’s National team, the National Women’s Soccer League, ALL of the team’s owners and managers, the United States Soccer Federation, the Canadian Soccer Association, the Mexican Football Organization, and to the rest of the world in your tweets. This is my reply to this tweet. -End-
Anon mentioned Val’s Rodriguez-related tweets. Here are some of the gems. I appreciate her constant ribbing on A-Rod. Hilarious.
If any of you don’t know who Val Henderson is (shame, shaaaame), she plays for Philly. She was on that beloved 2006 U-20 team and is with the WNT in camp now. Val’s every tweet is gold. Go follow her if you haven’t already: @valhenderson.
